Oriental Fruit Moth Biology
Oriental Fruit Moth (Grapholita molesta) is a pest of deciduous
fruits throughout most of the world. Economic losses occur
primarily on peaches and nectarines, but OFM also attacks
apples, pears, plums, apricots, cherries and almonds. Early in
the season, larvae bore into the tips of tender twigs causing
them to wilt and die. These “shoot strikes” are early indicators
of potential damage.
